Genpact Oracle e-Business Suite Accounts Payable Genpact Cora APFlow AP Automation ERP n/a 2017 2017
In 2017 USG Corporation implemented Genpact Cora APFlow, migrating AP processing from Oracle e-Business Suite Accounts Payable to a cloud oriented AP Automation solution. The deployment targeted AP activities that support a manufacturing facility in Cloquet and extended to accounting responsibilities across two business units, reflecting centralized invoice receipt, exception management, and freight receiver tracking for supplier invoices. The Genpact Cora APFlow implementation was configured to support core AP Automation workflows including automated invoice capture, exception routing and resolution, purchase order matching, and workflow orchestration for invoice approvals. Configuration also aligned with operational tasks performed by facility accountants, including daily production balancing, PID entry completion, month end closing support, and monthly accrual rebuild reporting for two business units. Operational coverage emphasized close coordination between onsite accounting staff and Genpact AP operations, with formalized communication channels for invoice processing and exception escalation. The project encompassed financial analysis and business support functions at the Cloquet manufacturing site, and integrated process steps for GL related entries, miscellaneous inventory management, cycle counts, and physical inventory coordination as part of AP and accounting workflows. Governance changes centered on defined handoffs and workflow ownership between USG accounting personnel and Genpact, including documented procedures for invoice exceptions, freight receiver verification, and month end closing tasks. Role level changes required accountants to coordinate AP transaction status with Genpact, execute accrual and GL reconciliations, and maintain financial documentation filing consistent with the AP Automation implementation.

IFS Legacy IFS Poka Learning and Development, Onboarding, Task Management HCM n/a 2025 2025
In 2025, USG Corporation deployed the IFS Poka application at its Plaster City site to digitize frontline knowledge and standardize work instruction creation across manufacturing operations. The implementation targeted digital work instructions and task workflows within the Learning and Development,Onboarding,Task Management category, with an initial scope focused on one high-speed board line and rapid expansion to three plants in North America. The deployment centered on IFS Poka’s digital work instruction and connected worker capabilities, including AI-assisted content conversion, tablet-based instruction capture, daily forms such as pre-shift inspections, and mobile equipment checklists. Poka’s AI content conversion tool was configured to accelerate documentation conversion and authoring workflows, enabling non-technical operators to create and edit instructions at the workstation and reducing per-instruction creation time from hours to minutes. Operational coverage extended from Plaster City’s Boardline 3 to two additional USG plants, with functional impact across operations, safety, training, and continuous improvement teams. The project moved Lockout/Tagout procedures into IFS Poka, which enabled USG to cancel a separate LOTO software contract and realize the stated annual cost avoidance of $60,000. The platform’s Factory Feed feature was used to drive operator engagement and contributor recognition as part of ongoing skills and knowledge management efforts. Governance and rollout were led by an internal plant champion who established hands-on training, shifted authorship to operators and temporary staff, and reduced staffing time required to support documentation conversion. Results reported by the team include creation of 1,433 digital work instructions in three weeks, a broader total of approximately 2,400 instructions authored during the program, and a tenfold acceleration in the documentation process attributed to the AI tooling. Future work includes extending skills management and introducing AI-enhanced video work instructions to further standardize onboarding, compliance, and continuous improvement practices.

Broadcom Legacy AppWorx Workload Automation Business Process Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2017 2017
In 2017 USG Corporation deployed AppWorx Workload Automation as a Business Process Management capability to orchestrate scheduled batch processing that supports finance and planning operations. AppWorx Workload Automation was implemented to centralize workload scheduling and automate recurring data movement across the companys financial systems and planning applications. The implementation emphasized job scheduling, dependency orchestration, calendar-driven execution and monitoring to manage ETL and data load workflows into planning systems. Configuration work included automated retries, alerting and run-time monitoring to stabilize end-to-end data feeds and reduce manual intervention in load windows. AppWorx was integrated with Oracle E-Business Suites and the Hyperion ecosystem, coordinating interfaces for GL, products and projects data to Hyperion Budgeting and Forecasting cloud. The program included an FDMEE upgrade to enable connectivity to the cloud planning application, and orchestration extended to Hyperion Financial Reporting, Smart View, PPM and SharePoint artifacts used by the planning and reporting processes. Governance and rollout were driven by formal test plans, UAT scripts, capacity planning meetings and project management cadences, with defect tracking and test management executed in Quality Center. A QA lead at USG directed onsite and offshore testing teams, managed UAT execution and reporting, and owned defect management for the automated workloads.
