In 2016 Valicor implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP as its primary ERP Financial system. The deployment centralized core finance processes for the utilities company of roughly 250 employees, with an initial focus on accounts receivable, cash management, and credit control.
Configuration and functional design emphasized Accounts Receivable and cash application workflows within Microsoft Dynamics GP, leveraging core cash receipts and customer ledger capabilities to apply remittances and reconcile payments. The ERP Financial configuration supported structured processing of remittance data and automated posting to the general ledger, while embedding credit control workflows to manage customer account status and holds.
Operational coverage included onsite finance and collections activity at Valicor’s Middletown Ohio location, where Cash Applications Specialists processed lockbox, credit card, ACH, and wire payments in Great Plains according to customer remittance. Specialists recorded unapplied cash balances and credit balances in Microsoft Dynamics GP, and maintained audit notes in the system as part of standard AR operations. The finance team coordinated directly with the credit and collections manager to identify delinquent accounts and execute actions including placing accounts on hold, contacting customers for payment, escalating accounts to management, and sending accounts to collections.
Governance reinforced workflow discipline by embedding exception routing and documented escalation steps into the Microsoft Dynamics GP operating cadence, ensuring collections and cash application activities were traceable within the ERP Financial environment. The deployment leverages Zoho Analytics capabilities including visual dashboarding, report scheduling, data modeling and blended datasets to create operational and customer-facing analytics. Operational ownership was retained in-house, with configuration and content published from Valicor’s United States operations to the website and internal stakeholders.
