Deltek Legacy Deltek Time and Expense Time and Attendance HCM n/a 2001 2001
In 2001, VHB implemented Deltek Time and Expense to centralize time capture and expense reporting within its Time and Attendance function. The deployment focused on monthly client contract billing, preparation and distribution of billing backup, client contract maintenance, archiving and job transfers for a 15 person professional services branch in the Netherlands. Deltek Time and Expense was configured to support timesheet capture, expense reporting, billing workbench activities and the tabulation of expense backup documents used for client invoicing, including the processing of complicated state agency invoices in Excel. Operational staff used Deltek Vision Software Version 7.5 on a daily basis alongside Microsoft Office 2016 and Adobe Acrobat Professional to finalize invoices and maintain backup documentation. The system operated in conjunction with web based accounting and payment tools where experience existed, specifically E Builder, Oracle Textura Payment Management, IPP Collector and Taulia, to coordinate payment interactions and accounts receivable workflows. Integration scope emphasized handoffs between time and expense records and accounts receivable processes for branch expenses and consultant invoices. Governance and workflow responsibilities were defined around billing and AR ownership, with staff analyzing client contracts with project managers to establish monthly billings and performing reviews of client contract files to identify variances or omissions. The role supervised an Administrative Assistant and maintained checkbook, petty cash and banking activities for the branch, while staff worked to develop and enhance knowledge of billing principles and techniques to improve cash flow.

Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Power BI Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2016 2018
In 2016, VHB implemented Microsoft Power BI to establish a centralized Analytics and BI capability for the professional services firm. The Microsoft Power BI deployment was scoped to address project reporting, basic financial visibility, and resource tracking for a 15 employee organization, aligning with the company use of Windows technologies and the stated preference for skills in Distributed application architecture, Microsoft PowerBI, Cognitive Services, and IoT technologies. The implementation emphasized standard Analytics and BI components, including data modeling and transformation, report authoring with Power BI Desktop, published dashboards in Power BI Service, scheduled dataset refresh, and role level security for controlled access. The architecture was configured to support cloud based Power BI Service consumption alongside an on premises data gateway for Windows based data stores, enabling direct query and scheduled refresh patterns consistent with small professional services environments. Governance focused on workspace and dataset organization, publisher and consumer role segregation, and simple publishing workflows to manage report lifecycle and approvals. Operational coverage included core business functions such as project delivery, finance, and operations, with team members expected to leverage existing Windows technology skills to extend analytics through Cognitive Services enrichment or IoT telemetry where relevant, and to maintain dataset refresh and report ownership within the firm.
