In 2015 Virbac implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial application to centralize finance and to integrate manufacturing quality processes. The deployment targeted corporate finance, procurement, inventory financial integration, and the St. Louis QC laboratory, aligning transactional accounting with product and test-level traceability.
The Oracle E-Business Suite implementation was configured around core ERP Financial capabilities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement-to-pay and inventory cost integration to link costing and expense recognition to production and QC events. Configuration emphasized automation of document review workflows and financial postings triggered by QC outcomes, supporting accounting for CAPA activities, method validation, and engineering research inputs.
Integrations were executed between Oracle E-Business Suite and QC laboratory systems to surface test results, out-of-specification and laboratory investigation records into financial and operational workflows, and to support the change control and CAPA processes. Governance and process work included revised QA and QC procedures, formalized change control oversight, and SME leadership from the QA Auditor in St. Louis who spearheaded the ERP integration with QC systems. Explicit outcomes noted in project documentation include the initiation of a water system data tracking and trending process and achieving 98% timely review of documents, while the integration also supported R&D use of hypothesis testing methods.
