| Keylane | Legacy | Keylane LeanApps Life | Pension Administration | HCM | n/a | 2011 | 2012 |
In 2011, VvAA Insurance implemented Keylane LeanApps Life for Pension Administration, initiating a program to onboard approximately 30,000 policies onto Keylane’s administration platform after notification of discontinued support in spring 2011 and completing the work within one year. The deployment targeted the company’s life and pension administration operations in the Netherlands and established Keylane LeanApps Life as the primary policy administration engine for the business.
Keylane LeanApps Life was configured to deliver core Pension Administration capabilities, with implementation emphasis on policy and participant record management, contract lifecycle processing, premium and contribution handling, and product configuration. The platform was provisioned to support standard administration workflows and product configuration processes typical of life and pension administration systems.
The project scope covered VvAA’s Dutch administrative departments and centralized administration processes, with Keylane providing ongoing maintenance and application management to ensure regulatory compliance and to enable new product development. Operational coverage and support responsibilities remained with Keylane as the managed platform provider, ensuring alignment with Dutch regulatory requirements.
Governance shifted toward vendor managed application maintenance and centralized administration governance to streamline policy servicing and product launches, with process changes to support vendor hosted operations and faster product configuration cycles. Keylane continues to manage the Keylane LeanApps Life environment to maintain regulatory compliance and to support VvAA’s future product development.

| Keylane | Legacy | Keylane Axon | Insurance ERP | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 VvAA Insurance implemented Keylane Axon as its new administration platform, using the application Keylane Axon within the Insurance ERP category to support its member-focused insurance operations. VvAA is a middle-to-large Dutch insurer serving more than 105,000 medics, paramedics, students and health care institutions, administering roughly 30,000 policies across dozens of traditional insurance products, which created a high-complexity scope for the program.
The implementation centered on policy administration and product configuration capabilities, with Keylane Axon configured to host the full portfolio after a technical conversion of existing policies. Functional emphasis included the Axon product builder for flexible product definitions, administration workflows for policy servicing, and a release-driven maintenance model to capture regulatory and technology updates.
Keylane provides the maintenance and management of Keylane Axon, and the platform’s periodical release policy was adopted to keep the system aligned with new legislation and regulations. Operational coverage focused on core insurance business functions including policy administration, product management and compliance processes that support VvAA’s service provider role in health care.
Program governance addressed the complexity and historical data in the portfolio, with project controls and partner coordination to execute the technical conversion within a one year timeframe. The resulting environment was positioned as a stable and future proof Insurance ERP implementation, enabling competitive rate positioning and giving VvAA greater flexibility to develop new kinds of products through the Axon product builder.
