In 2016, Walthall Oil Company implemented PDI Factor ERP to centralize transactional workflows and operational record keeping within an Oil Gas and Chemicals ERP environment. PDI Factor ERP was configured to provide a single application backbone for customer service, dispatch, inventory control, and accounts payable and receivable functions.
Configuration emphasized order management and invoicing capabilities to support high volume inbound customer interactions, specifically taking and entering 75 plus calls per day, processing email and fax orders, and executing oil delivery transactions. Dispatch and scheduling functionality was implemented to manage driver schedules and driver logs, while inventory and packaging controls were used to produce labels for package repacks and to track repack and transfer logs.
The deployment included payment capture for COD orders to run credit cards and integrated AR workflows to support collections activity. The implementation also included an operational integration point for entering Purchase Orders into the DM2 program, creating a handoff between procurement entry and the ERP transaction stream, and it was used across customer service, dispatch, drivers, and accounting business functions.
Governance concentrated on standardizing order entry procedures, formalizing driver log and IFTA quarterly data capture processes, and centralizing repack and purchase order workflows to reduce manual handoffs and improve consistency. Documentation and role based procedures aligned office staff and drivers to PDI Factor ERP operational workflows to ensure consistent data capture and compliance reporting.
