Billtrust Legacy Billtrust AR Automation AR Automation ERP Financial Management n/a 2020 2020
In 2020, Ward Transport & Logistics implemented Billtrust AR Automation to digitize payments across its business. Ward Transport & Logistics is a family owned transportation and logistics company with more than 1,400 employees operating across North America, and the Billtrust AR Automation deployment was positioned to streamline accounts receivable and payment processing at enterprise scale for the organization. The implementation centered on Billtrust AP Portal Delivery and Billtrust Digital Lockbox capabilities within the Billtrust AR Automation suite, enabling automated capture and application of customer payments. Functional modules configured included electronic invoice delivery into more than 200 AP portals, bi directional portal processing for capturing remittance data, automated gathering of emailed remits for decoupled ACH payments, and support for ACH, wire transfer and credit card payment processing and remittance handling. Operational integration points were focused on the AR team workflows and bank reconciliation processes, with Billtrust providing viewable remittances including email images and attachments and downloadable remittance files in CSV format for day level reporting. The solution enabled AR users to resend receipts, compare ACH remittances to bank deposits, and consolidate remittance data across channels, improving payment visibility for accounts receivable operations. Governance and rollout were rapid, with a quick implementation leading to immediate business impact and broad operational adoption. Reported results from the Billtrust AR Automation deployment include automating more than $80M in payments and saving more than 1,300 hours in manual labor, and a material increase in ACH throughput from approximately $2M and fewer than 100 payments per month to an average of $12M and more than 1,600 ACH payments per month. The organization is evaluating expansion of its AR Automation footprint with consideration of Billtrust Collections to extend receivables management.
