Wartsila Netherlands implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 in 2004 as part of an ERP Financial programme. The deployment established SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the primary ERP Financial backbone for the Netherlands entity, consolidating transactional finance and core back-office processes for the distributor.
The implementation focused on standard SAP Financial Accounting and Controlling capabilities, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, and costing and reporting functionality in Controlling. Financial period close orchestration, chart of accounts harmonization, and configuration of statutory reporting and tax-relevant posting flows were core configuration areas within SAP ERP ECC 6.0.
Operational scope covered corporate finance, accounting, treasury related workflows, and procurement-related financial postings across Wartsila Netherlands operations. The programme aligned accounting master data and financial process ownership to support month end close, intercompany accounting, and financial auditability for the distribution business.
Governance for the ERP programme was organized around centralized project steering and business process standardization, with defined finance process owners and master data governance to sustain SAP ERP ECC 6.0 operations. Rollout and stabilization activities emphasized controlled configuration, process documentation, and finance user training to embed the ERP Financial application into ongoing accounting and controlling workflows.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP Concur Travel | Travel Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 Wartsila Netherlands implemented SAP Concur Travel for Travel Management to centralize travel booking and expense workflows across its distribution operations. The deployment supported travel booking, expense reporting, approvals and travel policy enforcement for a 900-employee organization, with SAP Concur Travel positioned as the primary travel application within the company’s operational stack.
SAP Concur Travel was configured to support standard Travel Management capabilities including itinerary booking, expense capture and approval routing, and it included ongoing Concur Travel tool support by internal administrators. Operational responsibilities extended beyond travel, and included cost checking activities in Salesforce and SAP, creation of Purchase Orders in SAP, calculation of over-hours for Payroll, and maintenance of Field Service Admin processes in SharePoint and MS-Teams.
The travel implementation operated in conjunction with Salesforce and SAP for cost validation and downstream customer invoicing workflows, while documentation and team collaboration were managed through SharePoint and MS-Teams. The account also served as a key user for the FISCB Field Service Intercompany Billing Project, which focused on automatization of intragroup invoicing, with explicit responsibilities for testing, admin-team process documentation and training of users in other locations.
Governance was organized around a centralized admin and key user model, with responsibilities for tool support, process documentation and cross-site user training. Testing and training activities were documented and executed as part of rollout and project workstreams, and Field Service Intercompany Billing Project duties tied travel and expense handling into broader intercompany billing and invoicing processes.
