Oracle Legacy Oracle PeopleSoft ERP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2016 2016
In 2016, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority implemented Oracle PeopleSoft ERP as part of an ERP Financial program that encompassed Oracle Hyperion Planning, OBIEE, DRM, FDMEE, and ODI for enterprise budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analytics. The project scope centered on establishing a common business reporting framework to improve reporting capabilities, enable robust dashboarding and analytics, and streamline budget formulation across WMATA’s transit operations. V Group designed and developed the Hyperion architecture and metadata model, and they engineered the data movement from source systems to staging and into Hyperion using Oracle Data Integrator procedures and packages. The Hyperion Planning deployment included separate Operating and Capital Planning applications, with plan types mapped to Revenue, OpEx, and Human Capital Planning, and to Capital and Subsidy for capital planning. Calculation Manager rules were written and customized for aggregation and business logic, and Hyperion Planning data forms and planning groups were created to support user data entry and role-based access to the applications. Integrations were explicitly implemented between Oracle PeopleSoft Financials and HR and the EPM stack, using Financial Data Quality Management Enterprise Edition for source adapters, import formats, and load rules, and using Data Relationship Management for metadata versioning and hierarchy management. ODI was used to build logical and physical schemas and to orchestrate data extracts and transformations from PeopleSoft to the Hyperion staging area, and FDMEE scripts were automated with scheduled Python jobs for monthly, nightly, and semi hourly data loads. Data validation processes compared source records in PeopleSoft and other source systems with target Hyperion data to ensure completeness and integrity. Governance and operational readiness included creation of DRM versions and hierarchies for metadata management, test scripting for capital expense mapping, and functional testing for position based human capital planning that reconciled employee and position records. V Group participated in migration phases to support cutover activities and defect remediation, and they assisted with Enterprise Performance Reporting Cloud Services narrative reporting for printing proposed and approved budget books. The implementation targeted standardized processes and greater transparency across Finance and HR reporting, and it provisioned a platform for consolidated financial reporting and analytics across WMATA.

Volgistics Legacy Volgistics Volunteer Background Screening BackGround Screening HCM n/a 2018 2018
In 2018 Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority implemented Volgistics Volunteer Background Screening as a web-accessible screening workflow to support volunteer intake and vetting. The deployment uses Volgistics Volunteer Background Screening embedded on WMATA's public website, aligning the application with BackGround Screening functions for volunteer onboarding and security screening across transit support programs. The implementation centers on online volunteer applications, applicant record management, automated background check orchestration, and configurable role-based screening rules, reflecting core BackGround Screening capabilities. The configuration includes email notification workflows and administrative portals for screening case management, with controls for screening status tracking and document retention within the Volgistics application. Operationally the deployment is positioned to serve WMATA volunteer coordination and security clearance processes, interfacing through the public website to route applicants into the Volgistics workflow. Governance changes focused on formalizing screening approval steps and access controls for HR, security, and volunteer program staff, standardizing intake-to-clearance procedures within the Volgistics Volunteer Background Screening environment.

IBM Legacy IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2014 2014
In 2014, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority implemented IBM Maximo for Enterprise Asset Management. IBM Maximo became Metro's primary asset management system and a central repository for inventorying all major asset types across the transit system. Configuration work emphasized asset identification, documentation, and condition assessment workflows to support detailed, on-site inspections and validation of unit quantities and unit costs. These capabilities within IBM Maximo were applied to capture ages and replacement value attributes required for long-term needs analysis and to structure inventory records for future condition-based planning. IBM Maximo was integrated with Metro's PeopleSoft fixed asset ledger, engineering project cost records, and Optram linear asset tracking to consolidate the diverse source data used to establish the inventory baseline. Operational coverage extended through asset management, engineering, finance, procurement, and decommissioning functions to provide end-to-end lifecycle visibility and reduce duplicate counting across systems. The deployment was embedded in Metro's Transit Asset Management program, which delineated roles, responsibilities, training, and standards for inventorying and condition assessment. The output produced a reliable baseline picture of types, quantities, ages, and replacement values and provided a solid foundation for long-term needs analysis, with ongoing process and data improvements planned to increase comprehensiveness and reliability.
