In 2008 Wasserman implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP as its ERP Financial platform to centralize finance and accounting for its sports marketing and content business. Oracle NetSuite ERP was selected to replace Microsoft Dynamics-Great Plains and to provide a unified financial system capable of supporting complex business processes across the organization.
The implementation focused on core financial modules and configuration, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and revenue recognition, with additional configuration for multi-entity accounting and consolidated financial reporting. Workflows and automation were applied to billing cycles, period close tasks and revenue management to align finance operations with the companys industry-specific contract and sponsorship revenue models.
Data migration and consolidation efforts moved transactional and master data from Microsoft Dynamics-Great-Plains into Oracle NetSuite ERP, establishing a single source of truth for financial transactions and chart of accounts. Operational coverage targeted finance and accounting teams across Wasserman in the United States, with role-based access controls and process segmentation to support distributed business units.
Governance changes included standardized accounting controls, centralized month-end close procedures and formalized change control for finance configuration and customizations. With NetSuite, Wasserman is managing complex business processes and centralizing financial operations to support its sports marketing and content activities.
