| PowerPlan | Legacy | PowerPlan Lease Accounting Solution Suite | Lease Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2012 | 2013 |
In 2012 Westar Energy implemented the PowerPlan Lease Accounting Solution Suite, deploying it as part of its Lease Management strategy. In September 2012 Westar additionally selected PowerPlan’s Capital and O&M Budgeting Solution to extend analytics and budgeting capabilities within the same vendor ecosystem.
The implementation leverages the PowerPlan Lease Accounting Solution Suite alongside PowerPlan asset accounting and tax systems already in use, consolidating lease accounting, asset accounting and tax data flows. Configured capabilities include delivered dashboards, drill downs and alerts that map actual costs, commitments, budgets, forecasts and authorizations to support project and asset centric accounting and oversight.
Integrations were executed so the Capital and O&M Budgeting Solution integrates seamlessly with the existing PowerPlan estate, and the budgeting tool links to project schedules to provide a more holistic view of the project portfolio. This connectivity supports consolidated reporting and detailed variance analysis, aligning operational schedules with financial forecasts across the organization.
Operational scope emphasizes finance, project controls and operations audiences who consume consolidated outputs or granular variances from a single PowerPlan environment, bridging operations and financial planning functions. The combined deployment enables tracking of benefits and non financial metrics and uses dashboards and alerts to surface variances and authorizations for ongoing governance and portfolio monitoring.
