The deployment centralized finance and supply chain data flows within the D365 F&O environment while preserving site level operational configurations where required. Functional scope emphasized supply chain and operational modules, with Westway implementing configuration for purchasing, production, inventory, sales order processing, and formulation/recipes management consistent with ERP Financial workflows. Data migration was a major component, where the business side led extraction and staging using over 100 SQL queries to pull data from AX 2012 into Data Management entity templates for upload to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, and iteratively adjusted scripts with upgrade consultants to resolve data entity errors. The project included functional design document reviews, unit testing, conference room pilot activities, and user acceptance testing prior to cutover. Operational rollout covered production facility deployments to more than 20 plants plus central support offices, with each plant receiving process difference analysis, targeted setup additions, and data cutover for inventory, sales orders, and production orders. Training was delivered across roles from shop floor Operators to Plant Managers, and on-site post go-live support was provided at each plant to stabilize operations. Reporting and operational visibility were addressed by developing numerous operational reports for purchasing, production, inventory, sales orders, and formulations using SQL and Power BI tied back into the D365 F&O data model. Program governance was led from the business side with senior analyst ownership for the RFP and partner selection process to upgrade from AX 2012 to D365 F&O, and the same functional lead executed requirements gathering, functional architecture, CRP, and cutover coordination. Hypercare responsibilities included user issue triage, determining bug versus user error, documenting errors and communicating with upgrade consultants and developers, validating fixes, and communicating resolutions back to business users. The engagement emphasized business led data migration, centralized configuration governance, and cross functional testing to align manufacturing site processes with enterprise financial controls under the ERP Financial application.
