In 2025, WestWood Kunststofftechnik implemented SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition as its ERP Financial backbone to centralize enterprise management across six locations and operations in 16 countries. The program was executed with SAP gold partner Innovabee and included SAP S/4HANA for product compliance to address fragmented product safety processes and automate customer-facing documentation workflows.
WestWood configured SAP S/4HANA Cloud to standardize information management and unify business processes, implementing product compliance capabilities that automate the generation and distribution of safety data sheets and related documentation. Functional configuration emphasized automated notifications to the product safety team, multilingual support through built-in internationalization features, and order management flows supporting roughly 10 users across three departments.
The deployment uses the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition architecture, removing the need to run on-premises IT systems and providing centralized, auditable data management for product safety activities. The implementation consolidated workflow orchestration and automated customer communications within SAP S/4HANA Cloud, and WestWood plans to consolidate two dangerous goods systems into a single SAP application and to automate label printing driven by existing product data.
Governance changes included standardized documentation procedures, automated audit trails for product safety, and role-based notifications to reduce manual handoffs between departments. Operational scope covers product safety, customer service, order management, hazardous chemicals handling, and sustainability reporting, enabling consistent compliance processes across WestWood’s European and North American markets.
Outcomes reported in the implementation include automated delivery of customer safety information, now exceeding 24,000 e-mails sent automatically each year, elimination of on-premises infrastructure needs, and planned process improvements for label printing and dangerous goods consolidation. SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP S/4HANA for product compliance together provide the structural platform WestWood is using to centralize compliance workflows and support scalable customer service operations.
