In 2018, Wilko implemented SAP S/4 HANA Finance as part of its Omni-channel Digital Programme. The SAP S/4 HANA Finance deployment served as an ERP Financial central finance layer to consolidate finance integration across the retail estate, distribution centers, and wilko.com e-commerce operations.
The implementation encompassed end to end finance integration design and build, with explicit central finance connectivity between SAP ECC and SAP S/4 HANA Finance. The program included configuration of financial postings, central ledger orchestration and reconciliation patterns consistent with ERP Financial workflows, and a near real time interface design between SAP ECC and third party logistics systems such as Clipper WMS and GFS to ensure transactional finance flows aligned to fulfillment events.
Wilkos SAP Retail solution architecture was integrated with SAP Customer Activity Repository for omni-channel order orchestration using SAP CAR OAA for online order acceptance and SAP CAR POSTA for retail transaction postings from POS GK. The landscape also included SAP Hybris for web commerce, SAP ECC-IS Retail for core retail processes, SAP PO as middleware, and multiple WMS and 3PL connections, with SAP CAR DDF and UDF configurations supporting demand modelling, forecasting services, and SAP F&R driven store and DC replenishment processes.
Governance and rollout activities were structured around enterprise architecture reviews and business engagement, with gap-fit analysis, workshops, As Is process documentation, and blueprint production feeding into a landscape and roadmap for the SAP IS Retail omni-channel platform. The program delivered a unified design authority submission, and defined the supply chain and finance integration patterns required to operate finance, retail operations, e-commerce, and store fulfillment from a coordinated SAP S/4 HANA Finance ERP Financial implementation.
