In 2020, Wio Bank implemented Mambu Cloud Banking Platform to underpin its Core Banking operations and support core account processing and financial services. The Mambu Cloud Banking Platform was positioned as the central application for account lifecycle, transaction processing, and finance-led workflows across the bank.
Implementation work focused on backend financial modules, specifically Reconciliation, Finance, and Treasury systems, and expanded the microservice footprint from four services to twelve. Wio Bank configured straight through processing flows for Money Market, Securities, and FX deals and implemented customer-facing FX functionality, delivering thousands of deal creations per day.
The deployment integrated the Mambu Cloud Banking Platform with multiple third party systems, including Kissflow for workflow orchestration, GTreasury for treasury operations, and Refinitiv for market data, creating an operational fabric that touches every customer account. Services assembled for VAT calculation, reporting, charging, VAT invoice generation, and email delivery processed hundreds of thousands of transactions per month and directly impacted finance, treasury, and reconciliation functions.
Engineering governance and operational resilience were strengthened through introduction of monitoring and alerting, formalized code standards, and increased automated testing, raising test coverage from 60% to 90% and reducing static analysis issues by an order of magnitude. A fallback mechanism for FX was implemented to improve API availability to 99.5 percent, and the combined architecture and integrations centralized financial workflows for the bank s Abu Dhabi operations.
