| Egencia LLC | Legacy | Egencia | Travel Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, WP Engine implemented Egencia as part of a new Travel Management and expense systems rollout that also included Nexonia. The effort was led by the Director of Business Systems who had formed Business Systems and DevOps teams to reduce fragmented responsibilities and duplicate roles, and who staffed and developed those teams to own application administration and operational governance.
The implementation concentrated on core Travel Management capabilities, deploying Egencia for centralized travel booking and traveler itinerary management while leveraging Nexonia for expense capture and reporting. Configuration work emphasized corporate travel policy enforcement, approval workflows, and automated expense data feeds to ensure consistent expense reporting and reconciliations.
Technical delivery was executed by the internal Business Systems team, which applied API orchestration patterns and reusable integration approaches informed by prior development of REST endpoints and SuiteScript 2.0 automations in the companys financial stack. Integration deliverables focused on system-to-system connectivity and data mapping to finance and HR operational workflows, aligning travel and expense transaction flows with existing business processes.
Post deployment governance centralized management and administration responsibilities within the Business Systems team, including annual budgeting, project scoping, staffing plans, and change control for travel and expense systems. The Egencia implementation was positioned as a component of a broader consolidation of business systems intended to reduce duplication of effort and streamline application ownership.
