The implementation included monitoring and management of incoming and outgoing interfaces, with procedures to ensure there were no unresolved interface errors and that report data reconciled to source systems. Incident and problem management was conducted via SAP Solution Manager and allied ticketing toolsets, with escalation and coordination to SAP and technical third party support teams for critical issue resolution. Business requirements were translated into solution prototypes that were reviewed by stakeholders and passed to ABAP development for coding after approval. Operational governance relied on a coordinated offshore support model, where an offshore team was trained and mentored to resolve complex Finance and BW reporting incidents and to meet SLA targets. Testing discipline covered unit testing, UAT, regression testing, and creation of end-to-end test scripts, with monitoring of new functionality during ELS to ensure changes did not break existing processes. Regular communications to management and stakeholders covered scheduled and unscheduled outages, daily report availability, and completeness status. Day-to-day operations emphasized master data synchronization across all SAP layers, reconciliation controls to prevent missing data in reports, and facilitation of workarounds for unresolved critical incidents during peak periods. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was therefore positioned as the core ERP Financial application supporting finance processes, reporting, interface monitoring, and governed support operations at Xerox UK.
