In 2014, YMCA of Silicon Valley implemented Oracle Cloud ERP to standardize core finance and procurement processes. The solution architect was singularly responsible for the functional and technical scope and project management, gathering detailed requirements, configuring Fusion applications, and conducting conference room pilot and user acceptance test cycles. Custom reporting and document output were developed using BI Publisher, including check print, purchase order print, and AR invoice templates.
Integrations were a central element of the architecture, with heavy integration points to Oracle Fusion Sales Cloud and a custom built customer portal to support order to cash coordination. The implementation also included bank integrations to support ACH payment processing and automated import of bank statements for reconciliation. Integration design work explicitly addressed transactional flows between Financials and Sales Cloud and the external banking systems.
Operational ownership remained focused on finance and procurement departments, with governance activities led by the solution architect through requirements validation, test governance and cutover coordination. The deployment emphasized configuration governance, controlled test cycles, and BI Publisher based reporting standards to meet YMCA of Silicon Valley not for profit accounting needs.
