In 2016, Yopa Property implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP as its central ERP Financial solution to address identified weaknesses in invoicing and reporting. The rollout included a data migration from Sage Line 50 and a consolidation of the chart of accounts to enable accurate and efficient financial reporting and statutory close.
The implementation focused on the accountancy system including general ledger consolidation, monthly and statutory reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and complex financial modelling such as cashflow and management accounts. Functional configuration extended to a purchase order system and a company wide invoice and contract authorisation procedure, with the Oracle NetSuite ERP instance used as the single source for consolidated financial data and management KPIs.
Operational scope centered on the finance function and company wide transactional workflows, with the finance team restructured to a core team of three and oversight of group payroll, shares and EMI share options, and company secretary duties. Governance changes made the finance team the primary contact for auditors, banks, HMRC and Companies House, and embedded business partnering responsibilities to drive strategy from finance.
Explicit outcomes recorded during the program included a company wide cost reduction initiative that produced annual savings of ВЈ1.2 million, a 65% reduction in finance related costs following restructuring, and production of the companys first set of audited financials.
