In 2022, AVL Italy implemented Altair Flux as part of a 2D/3D Simulation initiative to support chassis structural validation at the AVL Italia Cavriago engineering site in Reggio Emilia. Altair Flux was configured to execute electromagnetic FEM analyses for synchronous alternator design and to support Automatic Voltage Regulator electronic design, producing detailed electromagnetic models that informed winding and wiring schematics and technical documentation. The implementation supported model-based engineering workflows, with Flux simulation outputs used alongside Matlab/Simulink mathematical models for coupled engine, alternator, load and AVR system simulations.
