Andorix | Professional Services | 40 | $6M | Canada | Beanfield Metroconnect | Beanfield Cloud Connect | Application Hosting and Computing Services | 2018 | n/a |
In 2018, Andorix implemented Beanfield Cloud Connect as its Application Hosting and Computing Services platform. The deployment leveraged Beanfield Metroconnect's hybrid cloud architecture integrating Amazon Web Services S3 and EC2 over AWS Direct Connect to extend compute and storage capacity, establishing a cloud-adjacent hosting layer for core applications.
Configuration emphasized Application Hosting and Computing Services patterns, including virtual compute provisioning, object storage consumption, and data protection orchestration consistent with Data Protection-as-a-Service and IaaS workflows. Beanfield Cloud Connect was configured to expose scalable object storage and on-demand compute, with service profiles aligned to the firm's professional services workload needs, and capacity scaling handled through hybrid augmentation rather than on-prem expansion.
Integrations aligned to the Beanfield Metroconnect model included AWS S3 and EC2 connectivity and the ability to replicate storage across AWS Regions and Availability Zones, enabling multi-site storage replication and warm-site recovery patterns. The architecture supported multi-vendor storage orchestration when required, mapping application storage tiers to cloud object stores and regional failover targets, while operational ownership was retained by Andorix IT for provisioning and Beanfield for network and cloud connectivity services.
The rollout followed a proof-of-concept evaluation and staged cutover approach consistent with hybrid service deployments, with governance focused on configuration control, backup orchestration, and cross-site replication policies. Implementation impacted IT operations and business continuity processes, embedding cloud-based compute and storage consumption into application hosting workflows, and positioning Beanfield Cloud Connect as the central Application Hosting and Computing Services capability for Andorix.

SPIN VFX | Media | 350 | $10M | Canada | Beanfield Metroconnect | Beanfield Cloud Connect | Application Hosting and Computing Services | 2019 | Curious Orbit |
In 2019, SPIN VFX implemented Beanfield Cloud Connect under the Application Hosting and Computing Services category to enable a burstable cloud rendering capability for production workloads. Beanfield Cloud Connect was used to extend private network connectivity into AWS Direct Connect and to provision a cloud bursting path for rendering jobs.
The deployment centered on a burstable cloud rendering architecture that supported remote mount rendering and dynamic provisioning of compute. During a 60 day proof of concept the environment moved over 330TB of data and deployed hundreds of EC2 instances to absorb peak rendering demand, and the implementation configuration included automated instance provisioning and remote filesystem mounting to support render pipelines.
Integrations were explicit, Beanfield Cloud Connect operated alongside AWS Direct Connect for private connectivity, and Curious Orbit served as the integration partner orchestrating the deployment. The Canada based VFX project addressed on premises rendering capacity limits and scoped connectivity, storage and compute as part of production render workflows.
Governance and rollout were executed through a 60 day POC that defined latency and bandwidth thresholds for remote mount rendering and established operational criteria for bursting to cloud compute. The POC results, including the moved data volumes and EC2 deployments, informed operational handoffs for production rendering and set network and threshold policies for future cloud bursting activity.
