In 2020, UNIQA Insurance Hungary implemented Cherrisk Policy Management, a greenfield Insurance Policy Administration platform built to be cloud ready and support rapid online growth across multiple markets. UNIQA initiated a fully online insurance management solution to handle high traffic, frequent product changes and auditability, and CoreConsult joined as a long term technology partner delivering backend, frontend and DevOps capabilities as a single integrated team.
The implementation architecture included a Scala 2.12 backend using the Play Framework and a GraphQL API layer implemented with Sangria. The solution follows a CQRS pattern with Kafka event streams, ElasticSearch for indexed event sourcing and Microsoft SQL Server for transactional persistence. Frontend work used Angular 8 plus with TypeScript and supporting services were built with Ts.ED for NodeJS based on Express, while Ceph provided on premise object storage for assets and documents.
Development and delivery used Vagrant based full stack development environments for consistent local setups and GitLab CI CD pipelines to enable one click multi environment deployments to Docker Swarm across INT, UAT and PROD, including automated database schema evolution. nginx handled SSL TLS termination, load balancing and high availability, and Sentry was integrated for real time error monitoring. Event sourced data streams were indexed into ElasticSearch to feed a data platform that supports actuarial workflows, pricing experiments and business intelligence dashboards, and the Cherrisk Policy Management deployment covered online policy administration, product configuration and pricing operations across UNIQA business teams and partners.
Governance and rollout emphasized close collaboration with UNIQA business teams and other vendors to review requirements and validate ideas, with CoreConsult operating as a long term partner across delivery and operations.
