In 2022, ENSCO established an Enterprise Asset Management capability as part of its contract to operate the Transportation Technology Center for the Federal Railroad Administration. ENSCO later selected COSOL EAMaaS, branded as COSOL EAMaaS, to deliver Enterprise Asset Management functions and to ingest maintenance master and transactional data provided as CSV extracts for a purpose built Maximo environment.
The COSOL EAMaaS deployment leverages IBM Maximo Application Suite MAS version 9.0 and was delivered with pre configured productivity accelerators including naming standards and conventions, security roles and dashboards. Functional capabilities implemented include work management to create and receive work, SLA reporting and monitoring, master data record management, dynamic Inspection Forms to guide technicians, and access to IBM’s Reliability Strategies Library to validate and evolve maintenance strategies.
Architecturally the engagement established a gold standard configuration in a new production environment, which was replicated to a test environment for data migration validation and user acceptance testing. The team executed three iterative configuration cycles to refine settings and articulate precise cutover timings, beginning implementation work in mid November 2024 and achieving go live on the last weekend of January 2025. Data migration activities focused on importing CSV exports into the Maximo database and validating transactional continuity for first day operations.
Operational coverage centers on ENSCO’s operations and maintenance responsibilities at the TTC in Pueblo Colorado, impacting engineering, maintenance technicians and requester workflows by enabling a mobile workforce and moving service requests off email into a self service portal. Governance and rollout practices included establishing the gold standard baseline, test validations and staged cutover planning to support service continuity and collaboration with the FRA.
ENSCO now operates COSOL EAMaaS as an industry standard Enterprise Asset Management platform that provides a whole of life asset health perspective, earlier identification of asset risk, and support for capital investment planning. The implementation positions ENSCO to expand into additional Maximo Application Suite capabilities including advanced analytics, IoT integration and predictive maintenance as future opportunities.
