In 2008 Easons implemented IWACS as its warehouse application. IWACS is a Warehouse Management application deployed to standardize distribution center operations that support retail stores and ecommerce fulfillment across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The implementation configured IWACS to deliver core Warehouse Management capabilities including inbound receiving, putaway, inventory control, slotting, pick and pack orchestration, wave management, returns processing, shipment staging and real time inventory visibility using barcode and radio frequency data capture. The configuration emphasized order to ship workflows and inventory accuracy for books, stationery and related retail assortments, aligning warehouse operational modules with retail replenishment and online order fulfillment patterns.
The IWACS Warehouse Management system was integrated with the broader Easons application landscape, including Microsoft AX ERP for master data and financial posting, Episerver ecommerce CMS and email platform for online order feeds, Masterlink and Gardners UK as third party logistics partners for outbound execution, Paypal and Barclays banking for payment settlement, and Salesforce and Desk.com for customer service exception handling. Hosting and platform integration utilized Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Exchange for system infrastructure and operational notifications, and data exchanges were established across these systems to support inventory reconciliation and order status updates.
Governance and operational controls included centralizing warehouse workflows and standard operating procedures to align IWACS processing with ecommerce and wholesale order models.
