Helvetia Versicherungen Austria Insurance 850 $370M Austria msg life msg Product Machine Insurance Pricing and Rating Engine 2016 n/a
In 2016 Helvetia Versicherungen Austria implemented msg Product Machine, an Insurance Pricing and Rating Engine for its life line of business. The multi year program was executed by msg life with close cooperation from msg systems and began as a target platform deployment for life portfolio management with an expected duration of around three and a half years. The msg Product Machine deployment was aligned with the msg.Life Factory architecture and leveraged JEE based standard components, specifically msg.LF Product for product configuration and pricing and msg.LF Contract for contract and policy administration. These modules provided product and contract management capabilities consistent with an Insurance Pricing and Rating Engine, enabling portfolio lifecycle management, policy administration and standardized product configuration. The implementation staged a parallel transfer of retained legacy files into the new LF system during configuration, followed by a migration of life business records previously managed under the AFIS Suite into LF. AFIS Suite was retained for Helvetia Austria's non life segment and for related systems such as collection and disbursement and customer relationship management, creating a coexistence model across life and non life operations. Governance and rollout were executed as a phased migration and integration program with msg life and msg systems coordinating technical delivery, compliance mapping to Austria specific tax and legal characteristics, and sequential cutovers so that upon completion Helvetia would administer all existing and new life business exclusively on LF. The engagement centralized life product and contract processing under msg.Life Factory, with msg Product Machine serving as the Insurance Pricing and Rating Engine for Helvetia's life business operations.
