Ceska Podnikatelska Pojistovna VIG a.s. Insurance 1000 $800M Czech Republic In-House Applications Neuron Insurance ERP Insurance ERP 2022 n/a
In 2022 Ceska Podnikatelska Pojistovna VIG a.s. launched the preparatory phase of the Neuron Insurance ERP implementation, naming the new core system and project Neuron and establishing scope, budget, schedule and a transitive architecture roadmap. The preparatory phase is structured to avoid a single big bang approach, reflecting industry practice that divides insurance core systems into 16 functional domains and favoring phased delivery focused on selected domain sets at a time. Early project planning concentrated on the Product Designer, Pricing module and Insurance Administration domain, with those key domains prioritized for autonomous development on a new technology stack. The project has implemented a Calculator as the technological basis for the Product Designer and Pricing module, and a pilot that will put the 1BB product into production through the new Calculator in pilot operation by the end of 2022. Neuron Insurance ERP development includes cataloging 927 business requirements that were aggregated into 103 postulates, and solution outlines for each domain that map As Is and To Be states and estimate implementation effort. Integrations and platform choices are explicit in the preparatory phase, the Calculator is implemented in modern technologies on the MS Azure cloud platform, and the team is validating Camunda BPM for standardized process orchestration and Kafka for integration and orchestration components. The implementation approach separates transactional data and process orchestration, and remaining functionality will be exposed through interfaces to modules of the existing solution. Domain leaders coordinate business analysts, IT analysts and IT architects across Kooperativa, ČPP and AIS teams to ensure alignment between business requirements and IT architecture. Governance is organized around domain level solution outlines that feed the IT analytical and architectural stream and create a phased project roadmap, supported by pilot implementations and proofs of concept. The preparatory phase also standardizes a new development process including releases to test environments, scope definition and testing methods, and defines a Neuron Domain Model as an insurance application reference model to define functional coverage and integration within the enterprise architecture. A proof of concept of Camunda will create a process for Extraordinary Commissions for ČPP and a pilot production deployment of that process is expected by the end of 2022.
Kooperativa Czech Republic Insurance 4000 $1.1B Czech Republic In-House Applications Neuron Insurance ERP Insurance ERP 2022 n/a
In 2022, Kooperativa Czech Republic launched the preparatory phase of the Neuron project, giving the future core system the name Neuron. The preparatory phase, described as the Neuron Insurance ERP initiative, was established to define scope, set a budget and schedule, and produce a phased roadmap that avoids a big-bang cutover in favor of incremental domain rollouts. The program explicitly prioritizes initial delivery of Product Designer, Pricing module and Insurance Administration domains before expanding to the broader set of industry standard functional areas that typically comprise 16 insurance core domains. The implementation focus centers on modular development of the Product Designer, Pricing module and Insurance Management domain, with remaining functionality exposed via interfaces to existing systems during transition. A technological pilot implemented the 1BB product into the Calculator, which serves as the foundational component for Product Designer and Pricing module capabilities, and the Calculator is fully implemented on the MS Azure cloud platform. Individual Neuron domains are being developed autonomously on a new technology stack to align with modern architecture principles and to enable independent lifecycle management of domain services. Architecturally, the preparatory phase validated modern cloud and orchestration components, including MS Azure, Kafka for integration and orchestration components, and a Camunda BPM proof of concept to separate transactional data from process orchestration. The Camunda PoC targets standardization of dozens of processes and will deliver a pilot process for Extraordinary Commissions for ČPP as an early BPM production scenario. The approach emphasizes clear separation between process execution, business rules in the Calculator, and event-driven integration to support domain autonomy. Governance and delivery are organized by domain, each led by a domain leader who coordinates business analysts, IT analysts and IT architects across Kooperativa, ČPP and AIS teams, and all outputs are captured in solution outlines that map As-Is and To-Be states. The preparatory phase collected 927 business requirements which were consolidated into 103 postulates through workshops with the business, and these artifacts feed the IT analytical and architectural stream and effort estimates for the project roadmap. New development, release and testing processes have been defined for the Neuron program, including standardized releases to test environments, scope control and testing methods, and pilot production deployment of the Calculator and Camunda scenarios is planned by the end of the year. Neuron Insurance ERP, classified as Insurance ERP, is being positioned to support core insurance product design, pricing and administration business functions within Kooperativa.
