Ceska Podnikatelska Pojistovna VIG a.s. Insurance 1000 $800M Czech Republic In-House Applications Neuron Insurance Policy Management Insurance Policy Administration 2022 n/a
In 2022 Ceska Podnikatelska Pojistovna VIG a.s. launched the preparatory phase of the Neuron Insurance Policy Management implementation. Neuron Insurance Policy Management is an in-house new core initiative classified under Insurance Policy Administration, and the preparatory phase initiated in February 2022 focused on defining scope, setting budget and schedule and producing a phased roadmap for a transitive architecture. The initial project plan concentrates development on the Product Designer, Pricing module and Insurance Administration domain, while remaining functionality is planned to be exposed via interfaces to existing modules. Individual Neuron domains will be developed autonomously on a modern technology stack, and the project avoids a big bang method in favor of phased domain-by-domain delivery aligned to industry guidance that splits core insurance systems into 16 functional domains. Technical validation work in the preparatory phase included a technological pilot of the Calculator, which implements the 1BB product and is fully deployed on the MS Azure cloud platform, and a proof of concept of the Camunda BPM workflow tool. Architectural experimentation also covers Kafka integration and orchestration components, with an explicit design goal to separate transactional data from process orchestration data. The Neuron Domain Model is being used to define application architecture, functional scope for individual Neuron applications and their integration points within the enterprise architecture. Governance for Neuron Insurance Policy Management is organized by domain, each led by a domain leader coordinating business analysts, IT analysts and IT architects across Kooperativa, ČPP and AIS teams. Outputs for each domain are captured in solution outlines that document As-Is state, To-Be state and stepwise transformations, and these outlines feed labor estimates and the project roadmap. Business requirements work produced 927 raw requirements that were consolidated into 103 postulates through workshops, and these postulates served as a primary input to IT analysis and architectural design. Pilot deployments are already planned within the preparatory phase, with the 1BB product intended to be sold in production through the new Calculator in pilot operation by the end of 2022, and a pilot production deployment of the Camunda BPM implementation for the Extraordinary Commissions process for ČPP also expected by the end of 2022. The preparatory phase is additionally validating end to end development and release processes, including releases to test environments, scope definitions and testing methods to support subsequent phased rollouts of Neuron Insurance Policy Management.
Kooperativa Czech Republic Insurance 4000 $1.1B Czech Republic In-House Applications Neuron Insurance Policy Management Insurance Policy Administration 2022 n/a
In 2022, Kooperativa Czech Republic launched the preparatory phase of Neuron Insurance Policy Management in the Insurance Policy Administration category, initiating a structured program to define scope, budget, schedule and a transitive architecture roadmap. The preparatory phase was named Neuron and follows a phased delivery model given the industry standard division of core systems into 16 functional domains, avoiding a big bang approach in favor of incremental domain delivery. The initial implementation focus is on the Product Designer, Pricing module and Insurance Administration domains, with the remainder of functionality handled via interfaces to existing modules. Business requirements collection produced 927 requirements which were consolidated into 103 postulates during workshops, and these inputs fed IT analytical and architectural workstreams. Solution outlines capture As-Is and To-Be states for each domain, allowing domain leaders to coordinate business analysts, IT analysts and IT architects across the Kooperativa, ČPP and AIS teams and to estimate implementation effort for roadmap sequencing. Technical pilots and tooling evaluations are part of the preparatory phase, including a technological pilot of the 1BB product into the Calculator, which is implemented on the MS Azure cloud and is planned for pilot production sales by the end of 2022. A proof of concept for the Camunda BPM tool is being developed to separate transactional data from process orchestration and to support dozens of standardized processes, with an Extraordinary Commissions process for ČPP identified as the Camunda pilot. The program is also validating Kafka based integration and orchestration components alongside cloud components, and new domains will be developed autonomously on a modern technology stack. Governance is domain driven, each domain having a domain leader who consolidates outputs into solution outlines and coordinates cross-team activities, which enables phased rollouts and targeted proof of concepts. The Neuron Domain Model provides an insurance application reference model to define the scope of functional support for Neuron applications and their integration within the enterprise architecture. Kooperativa Czech Republic Neuron Insurance Policy Management supports product configuration, pricing and insurance administration business functions while the preparatory phase formalizes release, testing and deployment processes for subsequent implementation phases.
