In 2014, Breeze-Eastern Corporation deployed PTC Pro/Mechanica for Electronic Design to support aerospace and defense mechanical systems engineering. PTC Pro/Mechanica was used for core CAE functions including finite element analysis, static analysis, dynamic analysis, vibration analysis, limit load and ultimate load assessment, and fatigue and stress analysis. Engineers produced detailed drawings with geometric tolerances and solid models, prepared preliminary design review and critical design review presentations, and executed concept trade studies and technical reports on stress analysis and repair procedures.
Deployment covered engineering design, test and qualification functions, and project management, with coordination to subcontract manufacturing parts and electrical qualification testing. Engineering staff operated NX 9 and Pro E Wildfire 4.0 in parallel with Pro E Mechanica and used Minitab 17 for statistical analysis, while design data and release control were managed in Matrix 10 and Teamcenter 10.
