In 2017 Manta Group deployed TouchDMIS as the primary metrology application under the Optical Simulation and Design category to support shop floor dimensional inspection activities. The implementation was centered on quality and inspection operations at the Foggia site, where TouchDMIS was used to control a portable measurement arm for part verification and acceptance of incoming material.
TouchDMIS was configured to manage measurement routines, probe calibration, CAD-aligned inspection sequences, and measurement data capture and reporting. The application functioned as the measurement engine for dimensional control workflows, running measurement programs that compared scanned geometry against CAD models created in CATIA and producing inspection reports used by production and quality teams.
Operationally TouchDMIS was used in conjunction with CATIA for CAD reference and with the Quarta application for recording nonconformities and formal material acceptance workflows. The implementation reinforced structured quality processes, with measurement outputs from TouchDMIS feeding the established nonconformance and acceptance steps managed in Quarta, and with operators performing complementary activities such as autoclave cure cycle analysis as part of the broader manufacturing quality regimen.
