Apps Purchases: 10+ Million Software Purchases
Founded in 2010, APPS RUN THE WORLD is a leading technology intelligence and market-research company devoted to the application space. Leveraging a rigorous data-centric research methodology, we ask the simple B2B sales intelligence question: Who’s buying enterprise applications from whom and why?
Our global team of 50 researchers has been studying the digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by 2 million + companies including technographic segmentation of 10 million ERP, EPM, CRM, HCM, Procurement, SCM, Treasury software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions and perhaps the rise and fall of certain vendors and their products on a quarterly basis.
Apps Run The World Buyer Insight and Technographics Customer Database has over 100 data fields that detail company usage of emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database, and different on-prem and cloud apps by function, customer size (employees, revenues), industry, country, implementation status, year deal won, partner involvement, Line of Business Key Stakeholders and key decision-makers contact details, including the systems being used by Fortune 1000 and Global 2000 companies.

Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma | Government | 11000 | $2.1B | United States | Cohesity | Cohesity CloudArchive | Archive as a Service (AaaS) | 2020 | n/a | In 2020 Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma implemented Cohesity CloudArchive to establish an Archive as a Service (AaaS) layer for enterprise backup, archival and data protection functions. The deployment of Cohesity CloudArchive was scoped to provide backup, restoration, archiving and replication services across all 47 sites, aligning the application to the organization wide data protection strategy. The implementation configured Cohesity CloudArchive core capabilities for backup, restore, archiving and replication, and used policy driven retention and orchestration typical of Archive as a Service (AaaS) platforms to centralize long term data management. Configuration work occurred in a VMware 6.5 virtual environment, and included DNS and domain controller updates where Windows 2012R2 DNS was migrated to Windows 2019 DNS servers using PowerShell scripting as part of broader server stabilization efforts. Integrations reflected the operational stack listed by Choctaw Nation, Cohesity was configured to work alongside on premise Pure Storage arrays for primary data, Orion SolarWinds monitoring for health and alerting, and AMPS security controls applied to Windows servers. Cohesity CloudArchive provisioning was coordinated with WSUS and batch patch processes for Windows patch management, and firmware maintenance schedules for Cisco USC hardware managed via Cisco HyperFlex procedures, while Active Directory cross domain functionality, GPO driven policies and user and group management remained central to access and authentication. Operational governance and run book changes were embedded into system administration responsibilities, with Systems Engineer III level ownership performing design, configuration, deployment and optimization tasks for Windows 2012R2 and Windows 2019 domain controller infrastructure, Cohesity backup and archiving operations, replication configuration and restoration processes. The implementation emphasized centralized archive administration through Cohesity CloudArchive, integration with existing storage and monitoring tooling, and standardized patching and firmware routines to stabilize ongoing archive and recovery operations.

Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma | Government | 11000 | $2.1B | United States | Cohesity | Cohesity SiteContinuity DRaaS | Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) | 2020 | n/a | In 2020 Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma deployed Cohesity SiteContinuity DRaaS as its Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) solution across a 47 site footprint. The implementation centralized backup, restoration, archiving and replication functions, with Cohesity SiteContinuity DRaaS configured to provide orchestration and recovery workflows consistent with DRaaS operational models. The deployment included configuration of Cohesity for policy driven backups, site replication schedules and tiered archiving across virtualized infrastructure running VMware 6.5. Server estate work during the engagement covered Windows Server 2012R2 and Windows Server 2019 domain controller builds, PowerShell driven DNS migrations from Windows 2012R2 to Windows 2019, and integration of Cohesity data protection into those OS and VM change processes. Cohesity operation was integrated with on prem storage and monitoring stacks named in implementation notes, including Pure Storage for primary storage alignment, Orion SolarWinds for monitoring and AMPS security for Windows server hardening. The configuration also worked alongside Active Directory cross domain environments, GPO driven policies and user and group management to ensure recoverability of identity services across domains. Governance and operationalization were managed through systems engineering practices, including OS design, configuration, deployment and optimization, WSUS and batch based patch management for Windows servers, and scheduled firmware maintenance for Cisco USC using cisco hyper flexes as recorded in project responsibilities. The systems engineering scope covered design through ongoing operational support, positioning Cohesity SiteContinuity DRaaS as the central data protection and DR orchestration layer for infrastructure, storage and identity services across the Choctaw Nation network.
