In 2014 Sodexo deployed Odoo Purchasing in the Procurement category to centralize commercial operations for its vending machines division. Idealis Consulting, an Odoo Gold Partner, ran the implementation for the vending division and led configuration and development work specific to vending operations.
The implementation of Odoo Purchasing covered both standard financial workflows and industry specific modules. Functional modules and capabilities implemented included profit centers management, contracts management, product management, purchase, stock, invoicing, vending machines management and meters reading. Sodexo met standard needs for invoicing and accounting while Idealis Consulting developed and applied the specific vending management and meter reading capabilities within Odoo Purchasing.
Operational scope targeted the vending division, a business unit of approximately 50 employees responsible for renting vending machines that dispense hot drinks, cold drinks and snacks. The rollout consolidated operations that had previously been run across 14 different software packages and databases into a single centralized system, and the Odoo solution was brought live in under one year. Meters are read multiple times per month to feed invoicing workflows and recurring contract management processes.
Governance shifted to centralized procurement and operational workflows under the Odoo Purchasing environment, with Idealis Consulting delivering the configuration and custom modules for contracts and meter-driven billing. Marc Peeters, General Manager of the Vending Division at Sodexo, reports that the new system developed in Odoo recovered about 10% of revenues that were lost in their old system.

In 2014 Sodexo implemented Odoo Contracts to centralize contract management for its vending machines division. The rollout targeted the vending business unit of approximately 50 employees responsible for renting machines that dispense hot drinks, cold drinks and snacks, and it formalized meter reading workflows performed several times per month to support accurate invoicing.
The deployment combined Odoo Contracts with a broader set of Odoo applications including Contracts management, Profit centers management, Product management, Purchase, Stock, Invoicing and core accounting capabilities. Idealis Consulting, an Odoo Gold Partner, developed vending-specific modules for vending machines management and automated meter reading capture, aligning contract lifecycle tasks with billing and inventory processes, and reinforcing the Contract Lifecycle Management posture of the solution.
Before the Odoo implementation Sodexo’s vending unit operated on 14 different software and database instances, creating fragmentation across operations. The project consolidated those point solutions into a single centralized Odoo instance that unified contract administration, meter-to-invoice processing, product and stock control, and purchase workflows for the vending division.
Idealis Consulting ran the configuration and custom development effort and delivered the system in less than a year. Governance changes focused on centralizing transactional ownership for contracts and invoicing within the vending unit and standardizing meter reading to billing workflows. As an explicit outcome Sodexo reported recovering about 10% of revenues that had been lost under the prior fragmented environment and noted improved operational productivity.
