In 2005 Westmalle Brewery implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV as an ERP Financial solution. NORRIQ executed a rapid reimplementation that moved the brewery from an older Drink-IT deployment to a Microsoft Dynamics NAV environment, driven by diminishing vendor support for the prior Drink-IT version and increasing difficulty applying legal and regulatory adjustments in the previous system.
The project focused on ERP Financial functionality with an emphasis on leveraging industry specific Drink-IT features while reducing bespoke customizations in favor of standard NAV capabilities. The implementation delivered a role based user model, personalized screens and menus for individual users, and retained industry workflows adapted into Microsoft Dynamics NAV to reflect the brewerys finance and operational needs.
Integrations included strong connectivity with Microsoft Office for flexible data extraction and reporting, improving end user ability to retrieve system data. The rollout leveraged existing Drink-IT configuration as a foundation which accelerated deployment and limited the scope to the modules actually used by the small brewery, with operational coverage concentrated in the finance department and brewery staff working on site within the monastery.
Governance and knowledge transfer were emphasized, with finance leadership closely involved in configuration so the team could make more changes internally and reduce reliance on external help desk support. Users required familiarization with the role based approach, but the new Microsoft Dynamics NAV implementation was reported as a significant usability improvement and a more modern, flexible ERP Financial platform for Westmalle Brewery.

In 2014, Wieninger Brewery implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV as the foundation of a Drink-IT based ERP Financial deployment across production, warehousing, distribution, sales and finance. The project was executed with SI/VAR NORRIQ and focused on delivering beverage industry functionality while consolidating transactional processes into a single client environment.
The implementation included standard industry modules for materials management, an advanced accounting system, management of returnable packaging, sales agreement and marketing support, distribution workflows, and tax management and reporting. Microsoft Dynamics NAV was configured to capture transactional events at key touchpoints, ensuring that inventory movements, sales orders and freight assignments are recorded once and propagated through financial and operational ledgers.
Integrations and operational coverage were structured to connect export and domestic operating scenarios for Germany, Austria and Italy, enabling automated duty and tax calculations and electronic tax notification generation. The solution unified previously disparate interfaces for materials management and payroll by centralizing data capture in one client, improving traceability from production to delivery and enabling automated compliance processing for multi-market pricing and duty rules.
Governance and process transformation emphasized reducing manual rekeying, increasing traceability and standardizing workflows across business divisions, with rollout decisions aligned to brewery operations and finance needs. As a result Wieninger achieved a coherent, integrated process flow that made shipments abroad simpler to execute, improved inventory settlement visibility and automated regulatory notifications through the Microsoft Dynamics NAV based Drink-IT implementation.
