In 2013, ABM Janitorial Services implemented Starlims Abbott eScreen to support its BackGround Screening operations within HR recruiting and onboarding. The deployment targeted recruiting workflows used by HR coordinators in Minneapolis, MN and was positioned to manage candidate background checks, authorization capture, and regulatory compliance checks as part of the hiring lifecycle.
Starlims Abbott eScreen was configured to provide candidate screening order management, results reporting, and case tracking, aligning with standard BackGround Screening functional workflows. Configuration work focused on workflow templates for phone screens, offer letter sequencing, new hire paperwork processing, and scheduling of required medical testing, enabling HR coordinators to initiate and track screening and testing from within recruiting processes.
Integrations reflected in the implementation included direct operational linkage with the company Talent Management System used for recruiting, and operational handoffs to medical testing scheduling workflows, consistent with existing practices where background checks were processed through GiS HireRight eScreen. The system supported HR operational coverage for new hires, transfers, and other employee changes, and intersected with union transfer and placement processes managed by SEIU local labor contacts.
Governance emphasis in the rollout centered on compliance with federal, state and local regulations governing employment screening, role based access for HR coordinators, and process controls for authorization and record keeping.
