Sage Legacy Sage 300 ERP (formerly Accpac) ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2017 2017
In 2017, Acorn Insurance implemented Sage 300 ERP (formerly Accpac) as its ERP Financial application to centralize core finance workflows. The deployment focused on finance operations that support monthly management accounts, VAT reporting, and bordereau processing for related party and other insurer interactions. Sage 300 ERP was configured to support general ledger accounting, structured journal processing, management reporting and VAT submission workflows. Within the Sage 300 Accpac environment the finance team created standardized templates for journals and bordereau entries to impose consistent posting structures and reduce manual input into the ERP financial ledgers. Operationally the implementation included a documented reconciliation workflow between the TCAS reporting environment and Sage 300 Accpac. Finance personnel scrutinised TCAS trial balance reports to produce a detailed audit log and reconstructed monthly management account journals, those reconstructed journals were then used for postings into Sage 300, creating a reconciled month end close flow. Governance changes centered on embedding the reconstructed journal templates and bordereau templates into monthly close processes, with outputs presented to the Group FD and FC. The deployment supported the preparation and distribution of monthly management accounts, quarterly VAT returns and the routine distribution of bordereau to related parties and other insurers, formalizing review and sign off steps in the finance workflow. Explicit outcomes recorded include reduced manual input through the use of journal and bordereau templates and improved auditability driven by the detailed TCAS audit log and reconstructed journal approach. The implementation situates Sage 300 ERP as the core ERP Financial system for Acorn Insurance finance reporting and month end orchestration.
