In 2014, Actuant Corporation implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as an ERP Financial deployment. The program focused on integrating Ascena Retail Group’s acquired businesses Catherines and Lane Bryant into the parent company’s existing R12.1.3 EBS environment, and involved migration activity from Infor Lawson for the impacted procurement and financial processes.
The implementation centered on Oracle E-Business Suite modules iProcurement, Purchasing, Payables and Payments, with end-to-end configuration work to align the acquired entities to the parent company’s common business processes. New operating units were created in the R12.1.3 environment and configurations were carried out across test and production instances, preserving consistent setup between environments and maintaining the Oracle E-Business Suite application baseline.
The project team engaged Catherines and Lane Bryant users to gather requirements, capture reporting needs and validate functional workflows for procurement to pay. Unit testing covered custom objects, while integration testing and user acceptance testing validated purchasing, payables and payments flows across the newly created operating units in the R12.1.3 environment.
Governance and delivery used the Oracle Unified Method OUM for project artifacts, production deployment and cut-over sequencing, and to manage project deliverables. Operational coverage included procurement, purchasing and accounts payable business functions across the acquired entities and parent operating units, with configuration and testing tracked through the OUM lifecycle.
