| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail POS | Point Of Sale | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019 Aditya Birla Retail implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail POS, deploying Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail POS to standardize store transaction processing across its retail footprint. The rollout targeted store point of sale operations and linked inventory control processes used by finance, store operations, and inventory audit teams across EBO stores, warehouses and factories.
Configuration focused on Point Of Sale functional capabilities including transaction capture, sales reconciliation, inventory adjustments and offline to online synchronization consistent with a retail POS application. The implementation included user acceptance testing and configuration of controls to support monthly, quarterly and yearly financial closings and general ledger reconciliations performed by the controllership team.
Integrations were coordinated with SAP S4 HANA for select finance and backend processes, and with inventory reporting workflows that supported stock in transit reporting and clearances. The project work involved cross functional coordination with IT, brand teams and external auditors, and the Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail POS implementation was executed alongside SAP S4 HANA related front end efforts as part of the broader retail systems landscape.
Governance and process changes were formalized through standard operating procedures, internal stock audit processes and audit coordination with external firms EY and Deloitte, with periodic reconciliation of inventory to book balances. Finance and inventory teams led ongoing controls, UAT validation and process automation efforts to embed the POS platform into regular month end and audit workflows.
