In 2014, AFL Global implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial platform. The deployment targeted core finance and procurement functions and extended to order management supporting AFL's manufacturing, connectivity product lines and engineering and installation services for telecom customers.
The Oracle E-Business Suite implementation included Oracle Order Management and Procurement P2P capabilities alongside standard ERP Financial functionality such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed asset accounting. Configuration and development work emphasized transaction flow alignment between order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes, with formal testing cycles and end-user reviews specified in technical and business requirements.
Operationally the program required interoperability with AFL's broader application estate, reflecting IT requirements to integrate with CRM systems, SharePoint and data management and business intelligence tools. | UKG | Legacy | UKG Pro HCM (ex UltiPro HCM) | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2014 | 2015 |
In 2014, AFL Global implemented UKG Pro HCM (ex UltiPro HCM) as its Core HR system to centralize employee records and standardize HR workflows. The deployment focused on Human Resources functions including onboarding, employee file management, payroll-related documentation, and termination processing across AFL Global operations.
The implementation leveraged UKG Pro HCM Employee File Management to convert paper records to electronic files, enabling a paperless environment for offer letters, employment agreements, new hire paperwork, I-9 documentation, FMLA, ADA, STD LTD records, performance improvement plans, and verification of employment. UKG Pro HCM was configured to support onboarding checklists, document uploads, and maintenance of payroll documentation such as increases, stipends, telephone requests, and car allowances.
UKG Pro HCM operated alongside Oracle procurement workflows, with HR personnel creating purchase orders in Oracle and routing requisitions for approvals outside of the Core HR system. Operational coverage included AFL Global HR teams and recruiters supporting sites such as the Duncan South Carolina facility and a Monterrey Mexico site, with the system used for day one new hire processing and routine HR recordkeeping.
Governance and process changes included role-based responsibilities for uploading and maintaining employee files, training and supervision of temporary staff to execute the file migration, and established procedures for termination notifications to IT and for pulling employee documentation in response to subpoenas and litigation requests. UKG Pro HCM supported a consolidated HR recordkeeping model, embedding document management and core HR workflows into AFL Global Human Resources operations.

Governance and rollout centered on procedural documentation and commissioning standards, incorporating SMOP and EMOP style operational documentation, as built and engineering documentation workflows, and standardized ticketing and escalation procedures. The implementation focused on embedding service activation, provisioning and maintenance workflows into NetCracker BSS/OSS to create repeatable operational processes for AFL Global field and operations teams.
