In 2018 Afni implemented Sterling Background Check for BackGround Screening to support Talent Acquisition and onboarding operations across multiple U.S. locations. The deployment centered on embedding Sterling Background Check into recruiter workflows managed by a Global Talent Acquisition Manager who led a 14-person recruitment team and provided oversight for offshore recruitment support in the Philippines.
Configuration focused on standard BackGround Screening capabilities, including criminal record checks, employment and education verification, identity validation, and a paperless start to finish workflow. Sterling Background Check was administered alongside other HR platforms and optimizations were applied to enable a paperless screening pipeline and consistent screening configuration across sites.
Operational integration included connections between Sterling Background Check and the companys existing HR and recruiting toolset, specifically ADP, Smashfly, SHL, Send hub, and mainstream web job boards as documented by internal platform administration. The screening solution was used by talent acquisition teams across multiple U.S. locations and supported the offshore sourcing team in the Philippines for candidate processing and case triage.
Governance and process changes were documented by the talent acquisition function, with departmental process documentation and performance scorecards implemented to measure screening throughput and quality. The program supported high-volume hiring outcomes, with Afni onboarding over 4000 new hires across the U.S. in 2019, and included proactive process improvement efforts to reduce cycle time and costs while increasing quality.
