In 2025, Agrovesto partnered with the MTN Cloud Accelerator to deploy MTN Hosting within the Application Hosting and Computing Services category, building a USSD version of its NormaOS platform. The implementation is an agritech deployment in Nigeria designed to let smallholder farmers without smartphones or internet access reach trading and market services via USSD.
The project converted core NormaOS functionality into session-based USSD menus and lightweight transaction workflows, retaining trading, market discovery and farmer onboarding modules. MTN Hosting supplies the cloud footprint and USSD gateway orchestration, and the MTN Cloud Accelerator partnership provided the telco integration and hosting environment necessary to support mobile session handling and simplified authentication for non-smartphone users.
Operationally the solution is hosted on MTN infrastructure in Nigeria and leverages MTN’s USSD infrastructure to extend marketplace operations and mobile engagement to rural users. Governance and delivery were coordinated through the MTN Cloud Accelerator partnership with Agrovesto owning application logic and user flow design, and the deployment explicitly aims to improve farmer onboarding and reach.
