In 2014, Ahearn Equipment deployed CDK IntelliDealer DMS in its Dealership Management environment. The initial deployment concentrated on service operations at Ahearn Equipment, Inc., Spencer, Massachusetts, aligning the DMS to the Service Advisor role that manages customer communication and day to day shop scheduling.
CDK IntelliDealer DMS was configured to support core service workflows including work order creation for shop and field service, weekly and daily scheduling for technicians, parts estimate preparation, and work in progress tracking. The implementation emphasized structured use of memos on work orders to capture approved work amounts and billing instructions, and included explicit handling for insurance claim work orders and warranty administration.
Operational coverage extended across the service desk, shop parts team, warranty administration, and coordination with the Set Up Coordinator and subcontract transportation providers. Service staff continued to use web based DBS and vendor websites alongside the CDK IntelliDealer DMS for parts lookup and vendor reference, while the Service Advisor role centralized customer contact via phone, text, email, and chat into DMS driven workflows.
