SAP Legacy SAP Business ByDesign ERP Financial ERP n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, AIM Micro Systems implemented SAP Business ByDesign, a cloud application in the ERP Financial category. The engagement targeted the life science manufacturer's requirement for transparent, location independent control across planning, production and storage while supporting both project business and series production. SAP Business ByDesign was configured to support warehouse management and production planning for samples, small batches and volume runs. The implementation enables exact mapping of complete stock levels and allows employees to post semi finished products to stock. Production variant processes were automated within the solution, and financial accounting and controlling capabilities were configured to interact seamlessly for automated postings and consolidated financial workflows. Reporting capabilities in SAP Business ByDesign were prepared and aligned for integration with group level reporting. The solution is deployed as a cloud ERP to enable use from any device, providing central application access for distributed teams. Operational scope covers planning, production, storage and finance functions within AIM Micro Systems manufacturing operations, aligning project oriented orders and repeatable series production workflows. The SAP Business ByDesign ERP Financial deployment serves as the operational backbone across these business functions. Governance and process redesign focused on standardizing requisition bills, expense reports and monthly closings to reduce manual effort and accelerate data collection. Day to day processes were automated to speed information flow to customers and production, and stock evaluation routines were instrumented for faster operational decision making. Controls were established to ensure consistent transactional procedures and integrated handoffs between production, warehouse and finance. Results reported by AIM Micro Systems include the ability to map complete stock levels exactly with employees booking semi finished products to stock. SAP Business ByDesign automates numerous production variant processes and supports the entire day to day business, while group reporting integration was enabled. The company reports transparent, efficient and consistent processes and location independent access to storage capacities in real time.
