Albea Technographics, Software Purchases, AI and Digital Transformation Initiatives
Discover the latest software purchases and digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by Albea and its business and technology executives. Each quarter our research team identifies on-prem and cloud applications that are being used by the 13000 Albea employees from the public (Press Releases, Customer References, Testimonials, Case Studies and Success Stories) and proprietary sources.
During our research, we have identified that Albea has purchased the following applications: SAP ERP ECC 6.0 for ERP Financial in 2014, SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) for Plant Maintenance in 2014, Microsoft 365 for Collaboration in 2018 and the related IT decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Our database provides customer insight and contextual information on which enterprise applications and software systems Albea is running and its propensity to invest more and deepen its relationship with SAP , TOTVS , Microsoft or identify new suppliers as part of their overall Digital and IT transformation projects to stay competitive, fend off threats from disruptive forces, or comply with internal mandates to improve overall enterprise efficiency.
We have been analyzing Albea revenues, which have grown to $3.50 billion in 2024, plus its IT budget and roadmap, cloud software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions for Albea intention to invest in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database or in cloud-based ERP, HCM, CRM, EPM, Procurement or Treasury applications.

In 2014, Albea implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial system in an international rollout. The deployment used SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to centralize finance and to support manufacturing and supply chain operations across the group.
Implementation work encompassed FI and core manufacturing modules including PP, PM, SD, WM, MM, QM and CS, with configuration and ABAP-driven extensions to align operational workflows. Development deliverables included EDI and IDOC interface programs, ABAP user exit implementations, BADIs, Smartforms for SD/MM/FI documents, and custom ABAP programs presenting dynamic stock status across multiple periods. Performance optimization and correction of functional anomalies were completed as part of application stabilization.
Integration scope explicitly included EDI/IDOC messaging and a Production Planning Optimization interface referenced as POIM, enabling transactional exchange between planning and execution layers. The SAP EDI/IDOC/ABAP development work supported cross-functional processes in finance, production planning, maintenance, sales and warehouse management. All development and runtime activity was performed in an SAP ECC 6.0 environment.
Governance emphasized code-level extensibility and interface control through ABAP development patterns, user exits and BADIs to manage local process variability during the international rollout. Development and corrective work were executed from teams operating in the Paris region while the program maintained operational coverage across Albea manufacturing and supply chain functions.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) | Plant Maintenance | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014, Albea implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) to anchor maintenance operations within its SAP ECC 6.0 landscape. The deployment targeted Plant Maintenance capabilities for a global manufacturing organization with approximately 13,000 employees and EUR 3.5 billion in annual revenue.
The implementation covered core PM functional modules including equipment master management, maintenance notifications, work order management and scheduling, integrated with production planning processes. Configuration and extension work included ABAP user exits, enhancements and BADIs across SD, MM, PP, PM, WM, QM and CS modules, together with Smartforms for SD, MM and FI document output, reflecting tightly coupled transactional and document flows.
Integration work was explicit, with ABAP-developed EDI and IDOC interfaces exchanging data across FI, PP, PM, SD and WM, and a dedicated production planning optimization interface labeled POIM. Development also delivered an ABAP program presenting dynamic stock status across multiple periods to improve inventory visibility for maintenance and production planning, work that was executed as part of an international SAP deployment with activity in the Paris region.
Governance and operational stabilization focused on modular ABAP controls to preserve upgradeability while adapting maintenance workflows, performance optimization of custom programs and correction of functional anomalies. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) was positioned to support cross-functional processes spanning maintenance, production planning, finance, sales order processing and warehouse management.

In 2018, Albea deployed Microsoft 365 as its enterprise Collaboration platform. Microsoft 365 was provisioned to centralize email, document collaboration, and real-time team communication to support corporate functions and manufacturing operations across the organization.
The deployment followed a cloud-first SaaS architecture with a single Microsoft 365 tenant and centralized administration for identity and access management, client provisioning, and content governance. Functional capabilities implemented included hosted mailboxes, shared document libraries and collaboration sites, and synchronous collaboration clients to enable cross-functional workflows and versioned content management.
Governance centered on policy-based access controls, centralized administration of user and device policies, and content lifecycle rules to align collaboration behavior with manufacturing compliance needs. The Albea Microsoft 365 Collaboration implementation was framed to support business functions including corporate communications, product development collaboration, and plant-level coordination through standardized collaboration patterns and centralized management.
