3M Germany GmbH Manufacturing 6711 $2.8B Germany SAP SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) Plant Maintenance 2015 n/a
In 2015, 3M Germany GmbH implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) to centralize maintenance execution and asset management within its manufacturing organization. The deployment targeted the Plant Maintenance category and aligned maintenance planning and execution workflows with production and engineering operations at the German entity. Configuration work emphasized core SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) capabilities, including equipment and functional location master data, maintenance notifications, maintenance orders, maintenance plans and task lists, and parts reservation and bill of materials support. Workflows for preventive maintenance scheduling, corrective maintenance execution and maintenance order costing were modeled inside PM, with master data governance and access based on roles configured to support maintenance planners and technicians. Operational coverage focused on plant maintenance, engineering, production and stores functions, with a subject matter expert for SAP Plant Maintenance guiding requirements translation, solution configuration and user acceptance testing. Governance established change control for PM master data and a structured handover to operations, complemented by SME-led training to embed revised maintenance processes.
AD ESM Utilities 400 $41M Macedonia SAP SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) Plant Maintenance 2013 n/a
In 2013 AD ESM implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) during the second phase of a wider business software program. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) was configured to support Plant Maintenance business functions including transactional maintenance recording and maintenance planning for regular maintenance and overhauls. The implementation covered multiple SAP modules and functional configurations, with targeted activities in PM where the system was set up in accordance with JSC ELEM requirements. Asset Management work included functional arrangement of the module and definition of locations for fixed assets, and a small subset of master data was prepared for regular maintenance and overhaul scenarios. Financials received refinements to remarks and partial resolution of open FI issues, and Controlling was installed per ELEM requirements. Integrations and adjacent system activity were emphasized, with HERMES used for human resources and salary calculation while the older payroll control process remained for output verification and error correction. Document Management System work required changes in the Captiva scanning flow for incoming documentation, and commissioning activities focused on verifying integration and barcode operation between SAP and HERMeS. Electronic banking and reporting in FI remained to be tested, and BW was waiting for real operational data to format and test reports. Process governance and rollout were executed through key user training and end user training across modules, and master data preparation was staged for supplier, asset, investment and inventory objects. Workflows were defined for investment approval under IM and for public procurement and order approval under MM, and warehouse processes such as revisions and amendments were defined in WM. The project planned an official go live on January 1, 2014, with remaining testing and validation activities scheduled prior to that date.
AETC Manufacturing 362 $119M United Kingdom SAP SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) Plant Maintenance 2017 n/a
In 2017, AETC implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) as the core maintenance application across its manufacturing operations. The project delivered an upgrade from SAP R/3 4.7c to ECC 6.0 and was executed across the companys three separate production sites, aligning the Plant Maintenance application footprint with existing SAP landscapes. The implementation centered on the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) module and built on prior configuration work across PP, MM and PM function modules. Configuration and development covered standard Plant Maintenance capabilities including equipment masters, maintenance notifications, maintenance and repair order processing, preventive maintenance scheduling, and spare parts reservation logic, with process parameterization to reflect AETCs maintenance workflows. Operational integration connected Plant Maintenance to SAP PP and MM workflows, enabling work order driven materials reservation and coordination with production planning. The deployment scope included maintenance, production planning and materials management functions across all three sites, which allowed maintenance work orders to be surfaced alongside production schedules and parts availability within the ECC 6.0 environment. Governance and rollout were led internally, with a long tenured SAP Business Analyst responsible for configuration, development, testing, implementation and user training. The program included formal testing cycles and user training at each site, and the upgrade to SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) was recorded as successfully project managed, tested and implemented across the organization.
