In 2017, Alexander Francis implemented Brightpearl ERP as a cloud-based platform to centralize order, inventory, CRM and financial workflows. The Brightpearl ERP deployment addressed their Retail Management needs for a 17 person multichannel retailer operating under the Open 24 Seven umbrella, selling high-end garden furniture on Amazon, eBay and a bespoke ecommerce website into markets including the UK, Italy, France and the US.
The implementation consolidated explicit functional modules for CRM, sales order processing, accounts and inventory management, and also leveraged Brightpearl Automation and live P&L reporting to streamline daily operations. Brightpearl ERP was configured to eradicate double-selling and to provide real time inventory visibility, which remedied the prior use of spreadsheets, Sage, Google Docs and Platform One across disconnected processes.
Operational integrations focused on synchronizing multichannel sales flows, restoring and maintaining marketplace listings on Amazon and eBay, and reconciling orders and stock with the bespoke ecommerce storefront. The implementation enabled ongoing marketplace operations and supported an invitation to sell through Amazon Vendor Central, reflecting restored compliance with marketplace seller requirements.
Governance and process changes included centralizing customer records to remove ad hoc paper notes, embedding automated order and inventory rules to remove the end of day process, and enabling resource reallocation from administrative tasks to sales and marketing activities. As a result of the Brightpearl ERP implementation Alexander Francis reported growth from £1.3 million to £2.5 million in turnover, a 92.3 percent increase, and regained standing on key marketplaces while operating on a cloud Retail Management platform that provides daily financial visibility.
