In 2016, All Metal Services implemented IBM AS/400 as its ERP Financial system. The deployment provided a centralized transaction engine for invoicing, inventory booking, delivery noting and basic financial ledgers supporting operations at the Bolton and Westhoughton sites.
The IBM AS/400 deployment was used to manage invoice administration and warehouse entry workflows, including Un Invoiced BOL Report monitoring, invoice edit verification and VAT code corrections. Functional use cases documented by staff include calculating and keying edit sheets on the AS/400 ready for delivery noting, adding export and packing charges to invoices, and processing stock adjustments and credits through established entry screens.
Integrations and document flows were operationalized with a client viewer for scanned paperwork and a Quality Portal for processing stock adjustments and credits, while pick sheets were produced by local printers and scanned into the client viewer as part of the order processing workflow. Operational coverage explicitly included invoice administrators and warehouse administrators performing printing, scanning, filing and data entry tasks tied to the IBM AS/400 transaction records.
Governance and process controls were expressed through role based workflows, with invoice administrators responsible for monitoring the Un Invoiced BOL Report and completing invoice edits before sending documents to customers, and with specific data handling steps for VAT code changes and upload of supporting paperwork into the client viewer. The narrative ties All Metal Services, IBM AS/400, ERP Financial and business functions such as invoicing, stock control and order fulfillment into a contiguous operational implementation.

| The Access Group | Legacy | Access Payroll | Payroll | HCM | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 All Metal Services implemented Access Payroll from The Access Group for Payroll Services. The implementation supported centralized processing for five international payrolls plus the UK payroll, with operational activity documented between October 2016 and December 2017 under HR management responsibility. The deployment addressed gross to net calculation workflows and end to end payroll maintenance across multiple jurisdictions. This workstream was executed as part of routine HR and payroll operations rather than as a large scale infrastructure program.
Access Payroll was configured to handle starters and leavers, collate overtime and monthly pay adjustments, and perform gross to net payroll calculations for each payroll feed. Functional modules and capabilities implemented included employee data maintenance, payroll calculation, multi-currency pay processing, BACS file generation and month end journal preparation. The platform was used to prepare month end journals for finance reconciliation and to generate payment files for submission.
Operational integrations reflected existing payment and tax reporting rails, with BACS payment processing and submissions to HMRC and to third parties explicitly handled through the payroll outputs. The payroll process included producing BACS files in Euros for the French payroll and in Indian Rupees for the India payroll, indicating multi-currency file handling within Access Payroll. Payroll outputs were consumed by finance for month end posting and by payment channels for execution.
Governance and day to day processures were run from the HR and payroll function, with the HR Manager and Payroll Officer responsible for reconciling payrolls, entering starters and leavers, collating overtime and adjustments, preparing new starter packs, attending disciplinary meetings, taking minutes and maintaining HR files. The implementation placed clear operational ownership of payroll maintenance, reconciliation and payment submission within HR and payroll teams, aligning Access Payroll usage to core HR, payroll and finance functions.
