In 2010, Allen Investment Advisors implemented SS&C Portia as a central component of its investment operations platform, deploying the SS&C Portia application to support Portfolio and Investment Management functions. The 2010 deployment was executed to standardize portfolio accounting and client reporting workflows across the firm.
The implementation encompassed full lifecycle delivery including requirements, configuration, testing, and rollout, with emphasis on portfolio accounting, performance and profit and loss workflows, and client reporting instrumentation. Custom client-reporting solutions were developed using Microsoft SSRS and SSIS, and performance methodologies such as time weighted return and cash flow sensitive calculations were incorporated into operational reporting where required.

CRM touchpoints with Salesforce were included in related lifecycle projects, reflecting an integrated stack across finance, accounting and client relationship functions.
Operational governance was driven by cross-functional teams spanning Finance, Accounting, Banking, portfolio managers and account controllers, with direct engagement from the CFO for reporting requirements. The program produced formal technical documentation, business analysis and quality assurance artifacts, and included partner-layering upgrades and SSRS report conversions as part of ongoing maintenance and release management.
