In 2016 Aloft Orlando Downtown by Merriott deployed M3 Accounting Core as its primary ERP Financial system to centralize accounting and financial operations for the Orlando property. The deployment positioned M3 Accounting Core as the source of record for daily accounting workflows managed by the hotel Accounting Manager and supported routine financial reporting for hotel leadership.
The implementation encompassed core modules including general ledger, payables, receivables, vendor setup and vendor payments, invoice input and tracking, daily report production and profit and loss preparation. Operational controls implemented in M3 covered accruals, credits, adjustments, charge backs, cash bank handling and end to end billing cycle activities including creating invoices tied to hotel contracts and purchase orders.
Operational workflows ran in parallel with other hospitality systems, with accounting operations interfacing with Marriott and Starwood applications such as CTAC and the Marriott business application for invoice creation and rewards processing, as well as expense and point of sale tooling including Certify, Micros and Lightspeed. Payroll preparation and employee record maintenance were performed for onward processing through Paylocity, reflecting cross system coordination between M3 Accounting Core and payroll services.
Governance and process practices centered on daily, weekly and monthly operational reporting presented to the general manager, vendor master and payment controls, examination of contracts and purchase orders prior to invoice creation, and budget oversight through collaboration between accounting and department heads. The configuration emphasized hotel level financial control and operational transparency within the ERP Financial application.
