In 2020 Alphia implemented Transplace TMS to centralize Transportation Management across its consumer packaged goods distribution network. The deployment was led from Alphia Clearfield and focused on operationalizing carrier selection, shipment execution, and rate management to support logistics and distribution business functions.
The Transplace TMS implementation included configuration of customer onboarding workflows, reporting processes, and Logistics SOPs, with the Logistics Manager instrumental in system setup. Functional capabilities emphasized during deployment included carrier management and rate negotiation support, shipment planning and execution workflows, warehouse mapping for new facilities, and reporting and analytics to standardize operational visibility.
Operational coverage extended to new warehouse setups and warehouse mapping activities, coordination of forklift leasing for facility readiness, and day to day management of company trucks, drivers, and logistics coordinators. The implementation impacted logistics, warehouse operations, pricing and procurement coordination, and customer onboarding teams, reflecting cross functional use of Transplace TMS for Transportation Management.
Governance was formalized through documented Logistics SOPs and integration of the TMS into the quarterly strategic pricing team for rate negotiations and pricing governance. Ownership and rollout responsibilities rested with Alphia logistics leadership and the internal team that managed onboarding, reporting, and ongoing operational rules within Transplace TMS.
