The implementation emphasized GL structure and chart of accounts design to support quarterly variance reporting and the association budgeting cycle.
The project included a systems conversion into Microsoft Dynamics GP from a named prior general ledger system, Epicor, and the accounting team also completed an accounts receivable conversion from Avectra to Association Anywhere Software with reconciliations to the new general ledger. Operational coverage focused on the accounting department where the accounting manager oversaw cash receipts, accounts receivable, payroll export to the G/L and financial support for the association's annual meeting.
Governance and process changes were driven by the accounting manager who acted as project manager for the accounting system conversion, coordinated the annual audit and prepared audit schedules for external auditors, supervised accounting staff and organized the monthly close cadence. Microsoft Dynamics GP served as the centralized ERP Financial system aligned with those governance and control processes.
