In 2018 Anglian Water Group deployed Oracle Field Service Cloud (ex TOA ETAdirect) to support Field Service Management for day to day scheduling of field operations. The implementation began with a Day Scheduler role that operated Oracle Field Service Cloud alongside SAP to manage and adapt to workload, with an explicit focus on meeting customer expectations while defending the companys level of service.
The deployed Oracle Field Service Cloud implementation centered on daily scheduling and workforce orchestration capabilities common to Field Service Management, including appointment scheduling, dispatch coordination, and SLA-aware task assignment. The first trained user acted as an internal champion, configuring day scheduler settings, documenting operational workflows, and providing frontline support and knowledge transfer to other team members.
Operational coverage emphasized water recycling operations within Anglian Waters field teams, where hands on knowledge of the water recycling system informed scheduling decisions and service prioritization. In 2018 Anglian Water Group deployed Cisco Webex Meetings to support scheduling and planner collaboration at its Lincoln site. Cisco Webex Meetings, an Audio Video and Web Conferencing application, was used to enable real-time coordination for planned preventative maintenance teams, in-day schedulers, tactical planners, and maintenance managers.
The implementation leveraged core meeting capabilities typical of the category, including scheduled and ad hoc audio and video sessions, screen sharing and document collaboration, session recording for handover, and participant management to coordinate Gantt and work bench reviews. Cisco Webex Meetings was used alongside planning workflows to consolidate synchronous planner interactions and to support task prioritisation and workload balancing across a weekly planning horizon.
Operationally the solution was integrated with tools that planners used daily, specifically SAP, Gnet, Oracle, Power BI and Microsoft Office, to streamline meeting-driven planning, reporting and data review activities. The deployment supported the rollout of a new scheduling tool for planned maintenance by providing a consistent conferencing and collaboration layer for pilot sessions, training, and cross-functional backlog reviews at the Lincoln site.
Governance and process changes centered on meeting cadences and planner coordination, the Tactical Planner role used Cisco Webex Meetings to liaise with maintenance managers and manage incoming work based on availability. The implementation focused on embedding Audio Video and Web Conferencing into planning and maintenance workflows to improve synchronous decision making during the scheduling tool rollout.
